Statue of Eleftherios Venizelos

The statue of Eleftherios Venizelos, apart from being a tribute to the great Greek politician of the early 20th century, is one of the most common meeting places in the city. Due to its location, "supervising" Aristotle to the sea and the traffic in Egnatia, the largest road in Thessaloniki that passes in front of it, is a monument integrated into the daily life of the inhabitants. Venizelou Street is also located a few tens of meters west.

The statue is the work of the sculptor Giannis Pappas. The statue, about 4 meters high, is made entirely of marble and depicts Venizelos in a speaking position, observing the characteristics of his appearance and clothing. It was replaced in 1977.
