14th Paiko Semi marathon

On Sunday, November 1, 2026, the 14th Paiko Half-Marathon and the 7th 5km race—titled "Paiko Chestnut Forest"—will take place on Mount Paiko, in the Kilkis Regional Unit. Originally launched with the aim of highlighting the region’s natural wealth and protecting it from destructive mining plans, the event now reaches its 14th edition and, once again, is dedicated to the protection of nature. We envision a Mount Paiko that serves as a magnet for athletes, hikers, cyclists, and visitors interested in specific themes—a place where they can enjoy the fresh air, the trails, the small villages, and the monasteries—rather than a "dead" mountain, where streams are diverted into hydroelectric plants and slopes are covered in wind turbines.
