Naoussa Wine and Vine Museum
Naoussa Wine and Vine Museum
The centuries-old tradition of Naoussa in viticulture and wine production
The centuries-old tradition of Naoussa's viticulture and wine production is presented and highlighted in the city's Wine and Vine Museum. It is housed on the ground floor of a magnificent neoclassical building built in 1908 by Ioannis Boutaris, which was the first organized winery of Naoussa.
Visitors travel through time and learn about the history of viticulture and wine production from the 17th century to the present day, from the first methods of harvesting and processing the fruit to modern forms of production and bottling. The exhibition, rich in antique objects from each era and demonstrations of the entire production line up to today's wineries in the region, offers comprehensive knowledge of both the wine cycle and the historical route of the vine's relationship with the city.
The museum also has an educational character, making sure to keep the interest of both young and older visitors with interactive games.
