Ataturk Museum

Dedicated to the life and work of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk

The beautiful building located at 17 Apostolou Pavlou Street, within the Turkish Consulate in Thessaloniki, houses the Ataturk Museum, where personal belongings and exhibits from the life of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, widely known as "Ataturk," are preserved. It is believed that this building is the house where Ataturk was born in 1881 and lived during his youth until 1911, before he left for the neighboring country.

The Thessaloniki Municipal Council gave the building to the Turkish state in 1935. In 1953, the space was transformed into the Ataturk Museum, preserving many authentic furniture and utensils, as well as transferring personal belongings and photographs from Ataturk's mausoleum and the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. For those interested in visiting the Ataturk Museum, it is advisable to contact the relevant consular authorities (151 Agiou Dimitriou, Thessaloniki, +302310965070-73), prior to the visit.
