Bust of Lambros Koromilas

In honour of Consul Koromilas who contributed to the liberation of Macedonia

The bust of Lambros Koromilas, located in Park Xarchakos opposite the Royal Theatre of Thessaloniki, is dedicated to one of the most important Greek diplomats and patriots. Lambros Koromilas played a key role in the Macedonian Question and the Balkan Wars, making a decisive contribution to the liberation of Macedonia.

The bust, made of white marble and placed on a marble base, depicts Koromilas in formal dress, conveying respect and prestige. Thessaloniki honours his memory both with this bust and with Proxenos Koromilas Street, which passes in front of the then consulate and today's Museum of the Macedonian Struggle.

The bust is not only a memorial to Koromilas' contribution, but also an important historical point for the city, reminding passers-by of the legacy of a man who made a decisive contribution to freedom and the history of Macedonia.
