Nea Iraklia beach

On the road that leads from Epanomi to Nea Kallikratia, the large beach in front of the settlement of Nea Iraklia is one of the most popular in the area. With organized points and large spaces for free swimming with personal equipment, its large width allows comfort to bathers despite large number of its visitors every summer. Its short distance from Thessaloniki (about 40 km) makes it a favorite swimming trip for an escape from the urban fabric.

The taverns around the beach are famous, offering fresh fish and local dishes, while the settlement of Nea Iraklia has many shops. The coast is sandy, as it is its bottom.
