Glarokavos Beach
Glarokavos Beach
The "Blue Lagoon of Halkidiki"
Beautiful, idyllic, and highly popular, Glarokavos Beach attracts a large number of visitors daily, located a short distance from Pefkochori in Kassandra, Halkidiki. Sandy and wide, with pebbles next to the sea and azure waters like most beaches in Halkidiki, it stands out for its significant length, accommodating both visitors who prefer to enjoy their swim at beach bars with sunbeds and those who prefer "free" bathing.
In cosmopolitan Glarokavos, the waters are shallow, and the pine trees almost reach the waves, providing a unique sensation to bathers who are surrounded by a plethora of colors. In some areas, pebbles can be found. At the end of the sandy beach, a small lagoon is formed, where the characteristic double sandy entrance is delineated, which serves as a mini-canal for boats towards the little harbor. The morphology of the area gives Glarokavos the name " Blue Lagoon of Halkidiki."
Apart from the establishments offering coffee, refreshments, drinks, and food, there is also a theme park for younger visitors within the beach area. Access is easy from the paved road, three kilometers from Pefkochori and approximately 110 kilometers from Thessaloniki.
