Ierissos

Enjoy peaceful and delightful holidays on its vast beach

Ierissos is a beautiful coastal village in eastern Halkidiki, approximately 100 kilometers from Thessaloniki. It is built on the site of the ancient city of Akanthos, an area inhabited since prehistoric times, boasting a rich cultural and historical heritage. In front of the settlement stretches its magnificent beach, about five kilometers long, awarded with three Blue Flags.

The well-developed beach facilities and the quality of its waters are significant factors contributing to the city's growth as a tourist resort. One attraction is the Kakoudia beach with its natural sculpted rocks, while nearby, in the Gulf of Ierissos, one can find Nea Roda. Approaching the medieval tower of Krounas, visitors can watch 3D stereoscopic video projections at the Cultural Center and also explore the archaeological site of Akanthos, located near the harbor.

Ierissos has a large fishing fleet supplying local fish taverns and the entire region. Accommodation options include hotels and rental rooms, while organized beach spots and quiet nightlife, ensure that this vacation spot has it all, away from the bustling cosmopolitan Halkidiki of the popular resorts on its first two legs.
