Agios Nikolaos

One of the Most Beautiful Traditional Villages in Greece

Agios Nikolaos is not only one of the most beautiful villages in Halkidiki but also in all of Greece. With its characteristic cobblestone streets, 18th-century architecture, and picturesque square with fish taverns and Mediterranean restaurants, it offers the perfect setting for a stroll through the alleys of a town drawn from the past. Situated at the "root" of Sithonia, it is surrounded by lush green forests that create a heavenly contrast with the red-tiled roofs, stone, and wood of the houses.

As a popular tourist destination, Agios Nikolaos provides all the amenities to serve its visitors. An important factor is its proximity to the top beaches in the region. It is just a few kilometers away from Trani Ammouda, Akti Salonikiou, and the Ormos Panagias, which is the starting point for cruises to Ouranopolis and the Mount Athos circumnavigation, Vourvourou, and Kavourotrypes. On the western side, it's also close to Nikiti with its endless sequence of "tropical" beaches. A notable attraction is the "Tsesma," the oldest preserved fountain in the area, built in 1626.

The traditional settlement is home to over 2,000 residents engaged in agriculture, fishing, tourism, beekeeping, and livestock farming. It is located 47 kilometers from Nea Moudania and 97 kilometers from Thessaloniki Airport.
