Learn about the history of the Gods' Mountain

The Geological History Museum of Olympus has been operating in its shadow, in Leptokarya, since 2013. It presents the geological configuration of the highest mountain in Greece over time, the evolution of its rich flora and fauna, the formation of the caves inside and the influence that the glaciers had on its mountain mass.

The exhibition includes minerals and rocks of Olympus, presented in showcases, with an impressive variety of colors and structures. Also, fossils from the wider area and works of art on the theme of Olympus, Orpheus and Alexander the Great complete the interesting collection with any information that the visitor would like to know about the mountain of the gods.
