Aquarium-Reptile House of Edessa

The fascinating world of reptiles and amphibians

The Edessa Aquarium, which has evolved into a Reptile House, hosting numerous species of reptiles, is housed in the restored water mill "Giannaki", donated by the family of the homonymous family to the Municipality of Edessa.

The Aquarium-Reptile House is located between the Varossi district and the Waterfall Park, in the area where the water mills used to run the city's industry. Initially, in 2001, it operated as an aquarium, with species of local fish fauna, and then expanded as a place for housing and exhibiting reptiles.

Visitors will encounter dozens of species of snakes, turtles, and lizards, both endemic and exotic, within cages that ensure complete safety.
