Post-Byzantine Bath of Polykastro

The post-Byzantine monument of Polykastro

South of Polykastro, on the provincial road that connects it with Axioupolis, is the only post-Byzantine monument of the town. The Ottoman Bath, built in the 15th century on the spot where the Ottoman quarter is believed to have existed, is located by the roadside and preserves its memories for centuries, remaining in relatively good condition.

The stone building, with the characteristic halls of the Ottoman baths and the domes, is distinguished for the refined architectural composition of its time and today stands isolated from the urban fabric. Access to the monument is very easy from the country road.
