In memory of the Sacred Band and Rimini Brigade soldiers who were killed during the war
The Rimini Fallen Memorial is located next to the new City Hall of Thessaloniki, in a small park near the building of the Hellenic Scout Corps. The monument was erected in honor of the Sacred Band and Rimini Brigade soldiers who were killed during the war and is a work by sculptor Sotos Alexiou, made of bronze and zinc. The composition of the memorial depicts three young men representing the three branches of the military: at the front stands an infantry soldier, next to him an airman, and behind them a sailor. The latter two, the sailor and the airman, raise their arms high to form the victory sign, adding movement and dynamism to the sculpture.
