Villa Hatzilazarou / Siaga

Villa Hatzilazarou, also known as Villa Siaga, is one of Thessaloniki's important neoclassical buildings, rich in history and distinctive architecture. It is located on Vasilissis Olgas Avenue, in the Exoches area, one of the most aristocratic neighborhoods of the city during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The villa was built in the early 20th century and initially belonged to the wealthy Hatzilazarou family, which played a significant role in the city's economic and social life. In the following years, the villa came into the possession of the Siaga family, from which it acquired its second name.

Architecturally, Villa Hatzilazarou is characterized by its neoclassical style, with impressive symmetrical façades, ornate decorative elements, and a grand exterior. The building features elements that reflect the urban class of the time, including a large garden and impressive entrances that showcase the architectural luxury of the era.

Today, the villa stands as one of Thessaloniki's iconic architectural monuments, symbolizing the city's prosperity and urban development before the Balkan Wars. Despite changes in use and renovations over the years, Villa Hatzilazarou retains its historical significance and unique architectural heritage.
