Busts of the Metropolitans of Thessaloniki

Dedicated to the four previous Metropolitans of the city

In the courtyard of the Metropolis of Thessaloniki, four marble busts honor the previous Metropolitans of the city. These busts are located to the right of the entrance to the ecclesiastical museum, on Vogatsikou Street, and are an important part of Thessaloniki's religious and historical heritage. From left to right, in chronological order, the busts depict Metropolitans Gennadios Alexiadis, Panteleimon I Papageorgiou, Leonidas Paraskevopoulos, and Panteleimon II Chrysophakis. These busts commemorate the memory and work of the Metropolitans who left their mark on the spiritual life of Thessaloniki, ensuring the historical continuity and spiritual legacy of the Church.
