The Church of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary in Ardameri is an important religious monument with a rich history. It was built in 1836, on top of an older basilica, and is a typical example of Macedonian ecclesiastical architecture.

The temple already existed before 1821, but was destroyed by the Turks during the Greek revolution. After the disaster, the inhabitants of the area united, with their support and solidarity, worked hard for the restoration of the church, which was completed in 1836.
