A small ecological paradise

Lake Arjan (or Amatovou) is a small, but ecologically important lake located in northern Greece, near the border with North Macedonia, in the prefecture of Kilkis. The lake has a surface area of about 2.5 square kilometres and is located at an altitude of about 150 metres.

The area of Lake Arjan is a wetland of great importance for wildlife, as it is home to various species of birds, such as herons, pelicans and other migratory species. The diversity of fauna and flora makes the lake a valuable natural resource, ideal for bird watching and ecological tours.
