The History and Evolution of Radio Technology and Culture

The Thessaloniki Radio Museum is located at the southern entrance of the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF). Established in 2001, it is dedicated to the history of radio broadcasting in Greece. The museum houses an extensive collection of exhibits that chronicle the development of radio technology and culture from the early 20th century to the present day.

Visitors to the museum can view various radio receivers, including vintage models from the 1920s and 1930s, as well as archival material such as old recordings, photographs, and documents. Of particular interest is the exhibit detailing the establishment and operation of the first radio station in Thessaloniki, which served as a significant reference point for Greek radio broadcasting.

In addition to showcasing exhibits, the museum offers educational programs and activities aimed at disseminating the history of radio to younger generations. It serves as a cultural and technological heritage space, integrating both the historical and contemporary aspects of radio in Greece.
