In memory of those who lost their lives in the deadly Battle of Lachanas

The Lachanas Fallen Soldiers Monument is a significant historical site located at the summit of a hill, in close proximity to the corresponding museum. Visitors approach the monument via a staircase, along which stand the busts of the heroes of the deadly Battle of Lachanas, a crucial strategic conflict in Greek history.

At the base of the hill, the Fallen Soldiers Museum hosts exhibits that highlight the history of the battle. The displays include samples of individual and collective weaponry from both opposing sides, providing a comprehensive view of the era. Notable are the artworks by the artist Kenan Mesare, depicting scenes from the battle, and especially the perforated uniform of Colonel Ioannis Papakyriazis, which illustrates the tragic moment of his fall on the battlefield.

Visitors can admire photographic material showing the battle environment, as well as a scale model of the geographic area where the battle took place, accompanied by audiovisual elements for a more vivid representation of the events.
