«Mill of Taste” in Edessa

Between Varossi and the Park of the Waterfalls, the area of the mills that operated until the first half of the 20th century, exploiting the power of Edessa's abundant waters, is a reminder of the great industrial development the city experienced at that time. One of them, the sesame mill of the old Pertsemli mill, which has been granted - like all mills - to the Municipality of Edessa, was restored, renovated, and has been operating since 2016 as the "Mill of Taste".

Visitors are given the opportunity to get in touch with the local gastronomy and the products of the region, but also to learn more about the benefits of the Mediterranean diet in general. At the same time, very interesting information is provided about the operation of the old sesame mill, the only one powered by water in Greece.
