Statue Lysimachou Kautanzoglou

Dedicated to the great benefactor of Thessaloniki

The statue of Lysimachos Kautantzoglou is located outside the Kautantzoglio Stadium in Thessaloniki. The sculpture is dedicated to the great benefactor of the city, Lysimachos Kautantzoglou, and is the work of the sculptor Aliki Hatzi.

Made of marble and in natural dimensions, the statue depicts Lysimachos Kautantzoglou wearing a suit, with two medals and a coat slung over his shoulders, thus highlighting his dignity and greatness.

The Kautantzoglio Stadium was built with a donation from the Kautatzoglou Foundation, which financed its construction, contributing significantly to the development of sport and cultural life in Thessaloniki. As a mark of honour, the city has also named a street after it, which is located perpendicular to Egnatia Street, near the former 424 Military Hospital and the War Museum.
