Bust of Nikolaos Germanos Dedicated to the Founder of the Thessaloniki International Fair

At the western entrance of the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), known as the Commercial Gate, stands the bust of Nikolaos Germanos, created by sculptor Leandros Tsimenis. This monument was installed in 1978 to honor the founder of the Thessaloniki International Fair, recognizing his contribution to the cultural and commercial development of the city.

The bust, made of bronze, realistically depicts Germanos and is mounted on a marble pedestal. Nikolaos Germanos was born in 1864 in the village of Vavdos in Halkidiki. Although his father's real surname was Liolis, the surname Germanos was adopted due to his studies in Germany.
