In Honor of the Assassinated Swedish Politician
The bust of Olof Palme is located in the park of the same name in Kalamaria, near the Aretsou beach. The park is part of the estate of the Georgiadis family, who were known for their brewery.
Following an agreement with the Kalamaria municipality, part of the area was developed into luxury apartment buildings, while the rest was transformed into a park. The bust of Olof Palme, crafted in bronze, stands on a marble-covered pedestal on a stone base.
The park was renovated in the spring of 2020, gaining a striking new appearance and is once again open to the public. The bust and the park honor the memory of the Swedish politician, who served as the Prime Minister of Sweden and was known for his progressive views.
