Stavroupoli Botanical Garden

A lush green space in the heart of the urban landscape

The Stavroupoli Botanical Garden, located in the western part of Thessaloniki, is a green oasis with significant ecological and educational value. Established in 2002 by the Municipality of Pavlos Melas, the garden covers an area of approximately 5 acres. It is home to over 1,000 plant species, representing the biodiversity of Greek and Mediterranean flora.

The garden is divided into various thematic sections, such as the aromatic plants garden, the vegetable garden, and the medicinal plants garden. There is also a section dedicated to rare and endangered plant species, helping to raise public awareness about their conservation.

The Botanical Garden is not only a place of natural beauty but also a vibrant educational center. Regular environmental education programs, workshops, and guided tours are organized for students, educators, and the general public. The garden serves as an attraction for local residents and visitors from other areas, offering a unique opportunity to connect with nature within the urban environment.
