A historic and beautiful picturesque village in Paiko

Skra is a historic village in the prefecture of Kilkis, known for its important place in Greek history. It is located on the slopes of Mount Paiko, at an altitude of about 600 meters, and offers impressive natural beauties as well as a rich cultural heritage.

Skra is best known for the Battle of Skra which took place during the First World War, on 17 May 1918. The victory of the allied forces, in which the Greek army participated, was decisive and the village became a symbol of the Greek resistance.

The area around Skra is extremely picturesque, with dense forests, waterfalls and the famous "Blue River", a natural wonder formed by waterfalls and small lakes with crystal clear waters, creating a magical landscape.

In Skra there is a small but remarkable war museum, which houses artifacts and exhibits from the Battle of Skra, offering a glimpse into the historical significance of the region. The village retains traditional Macedonian features, with stone houses and narrow streets offering a charming atmosphere.
