Nea Fokea
Nea Fokea
The first tourist resort of cosmopolitan eastern Kassandra
Nea Fokea is the first seaside village you encounter after the canal of Kassandra, on the eastern side of the peninsula. It welcomes visitors to its particularly cosmopolitan coastline, which extends almost to the southern tip, with successive iconic beaches and tourist settlements that attract many tourists during the summer months. It was founded by refugees from the small Asia Minor town of Fokea and is located approximately 80 kilometers from Thessaloniki.
Its trademark is the medieval tower, standing at a height of 17 meters, which dominates over the village's harbor. It is the only tower in Halkidiki that has been preserved up to its battlements, built in the 15th century. Near the tower, there is the so-called "Agiasma of Agios Pavlos", where, according to tradition, the Apostle Paul sought refuge.
The beach of Nea Fokea, with its fine sand and clear turquoise waters, is awarded the Blue Flag every summer and its is filed with visitors thanks to the excellent quality of its facilities and the landscapes’ beauty. As a popular tourist destination, with a plethora of choices in accommodation, dining, and entertainment, Nea Fokea can satisfy every need of those who visit for their vacations, whether they seek a vibrant nightlife or a relaxed time by its large, welcoming beach.
