Museum of the Care of Pontian Women
Showcasing the Cultural Heritage of Pontians in Thessaloniki
The Museum of the Care of Pontian Women in Thessaloniki was established in 1996 with the aim of highlighting the Pontian cultural heritage and supporting women from the Pontian community. Located in a central area of the city, at the intersection of Botzari and Vasilissis Olgas Streets, the museum houses exhibits related to the history, traditions, and arts of Pontus.
The museum's collection includes traditional costumes, embroidery, woven items, and objects related to the lives and activities of women from Pontus. Special emphasis is placed on the techniques and materials used by Pontian women in creating these works, showcasing their artistry and creativity.
The museum also organizes events, educational programs, and activities that promote the Pontian language and traditions. Through these initiatives, it contributes to the preservation of cultural heritage and the strengthening of the Pontian community's identity in Thessaloniki and throughout Greece.
