Old Urban School in Proti, Serres

The Old Urban School in Proti, Serres, is a significant part of the region's cultural and educational heritage. This neoclassical building was constructed between 1905 and 1908 at the initiative of Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Drama.

Initially, the school served as the Urban School, providing education and knowledge to the youth of the area. Later, the building housed the Primary School, continuing its educational services to the community. Over time, it also accommodated other important institutions, such as the Police and the Philomouson Society "Progress," contributing to the social and cultural life of Proti.
