Karagatsia Beach (Ammouliani)

The heavenly sandy beach with a colorful seabed

In Ammouliani, the only inhabited island in Halkidiki, every spot resembles an exotic paradise. The beauty of the island's morphology is indescribable, combining crystal-clear waters with every possible color shade on the submerged rocks, golden sand that reaches the sea, dense vegetation on the hills above the coast, and views towards the Aegean and Mount Athos.

Karagatsia Beach is located about 3 kilometers from the island's harbor and is easily accessible through a paved road. As its name suggests (Karagatsia means "small oaks" in Greek), it is surrounded by trees, while the wide stretch of the beach comfortably accommodates its visitors, with a small organized section featuring a beach bar for necessary supplies. The beach is situated in a beautiful little bay, protected from the winds, resembling a picturesque painting.

The seabed is covered with the fine sand of the beach and is shallow for several meters, but it is incredibly interesting for snorkeling due to the variety of small rocks, marine organisms, and shellfish. It is especially beloved by underwater fishing enthusiasts, as it is home to a large population of fish.
