Lake Oraiokastro

Lake Oraiokastro is an artificial lake located near the settlement of Oraiokastro, in the northern suburbs of Thessaloniki. It is a small but important lake, which was created to meet the irrigation needs of the area, but also to store water for flood protection.

The lake was constructed in the 1980s by the then Municipality of Oraiokastro, with the main aim of storing water for irrigation of the agricultural land in the area.
