Sarti
Sarti
The popular tourist resort with the most beautiful beaches in Sithonia
Renowned for its stunning, endless beaches that surround it, Sarti is established as one of the largest tourist resorts in Greece. It is in the second "leg" of the Halkidiki Peninsula, 145 kilometers from Thessaloniki and 130 kilometers from the airport. Initially a refuge for uprooted refugees from Afiissos in Marmara, it later developed into a fishing village where fishing was the main occupation. Today, it has experienced strong tourist development, mainly thanks to its popular coastline and the infrastructure created for its visitors.
The settlement is built in front of a beach that stretches for about three kilometers and has been awarded the Blue Flag. Most visitors stay in the village, which can cater to every need with dozens of hotels, rental rooms, shops, fish taverns, beach bars, restaurants, and a very lively nightlife. However, its main allure lies in the unforgettable hours spent swimming and sunbathing on its distinguished coast, characterized by shallow, crystal-clear waters, and a wide, sandy beach.
Sarti also serves as a starting point for visiting nearby beaches, each of which is included in the list of the most beautiful beaches in Halkidiki (Kavourotripes, Armenistis, Achlada, and Platanitsi). The dependency of Mount Athos with its beautiful monastery is of particular interest, while Mount Dragoudeli, which rises behind the village, offers opportunities for hiking with views of Mount Athos across the sea and the Aegean horizon. Mini-cruises that circumnavigate Mount Athos depart from Sarti's harbor.
