Monument to Fallen Resistance Students in the National Liberation Struggle 1941-1944

In Honor of the Executed Students During the Resistance

The Monument to Fallen Resistance Students in the National Liberation Struggle 1941-1944 is located at the entrance of the amphitheater of the Faculty of Law at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. The monument was installed in 1999 and was designed by sculptor Kostas Domboulas.

The monument is a modern metallic sculpture characterized by geometric and abstract elements. It is set among pebbles on the ground, without a base, creating the impression that it emerges from the earth and rises from the bottom upwards.

At the base of the sculpture, on marble plaques, are inscribed the names of the students who were executed during the resistance. This arrangement adds a solemn and respectful character to the monument, honoring the memory of the students who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of their country.
