Alykes Beach (Ammouliani)

The photographed, famous tropical paradise

Despite its small size, the island of Ammouliani is full of places waiting to be discovered. From its small, beautiful beaches with their turquoise waters to the diverse sculptures formed by the cliffs on the shores and the shallow seabeds, from the taverns serving fish caught around the island to the colors that dazzle with their combinations both during the day under the sun playing on the transparent waters and at night, when the illuminated mainland contrasts with the peaceful life on the tourist side of Ammouliani, highlighting the uniqueness of the landscape.

What everyone knows when passing by the island is its most famous beach. One of the most photographed coastlines in Halkidiki, resembling a beach in a tropical paradise rather than a small island in the Gulf of Mount Athos, two miles from the mainland. The Alykes (Salt Pans) serve as a benchmark for every beach, satisfying every taste and need of their visitors and providing a truly life-changing experience.

The Blue Flag is the minimum recognition that could be given to Alykes for the quality of its waters, its clean beach, the excellent organization of the beach bars, and the large section that remains free. It is located one kilometer from the port of Ammouliani, and access is easy by car as well as by boat, as many prefer to come to Alykes directly from the opposite mainland to enjoy their swim. Whether as a day trip for diving, exploration, sunbathing, and eating fish and seafood from the area, or as a holiday destination, Ammouliani and Alykes never fails to leave visitors with a memorable experience.
