Historical Archive of Macedonia (Former Russian Hospital)

The Historical Archive of Macedonia is housed in the building of the former Russian Hospital, which is located in Thessaloniki, on Papanastasiou Street. The building was constructed at the beginning of the 20th century, probably around 1909, to serve the needs of the Russian army during the First World War.

The building is of particular architectural significance and is characterized by neoclassical and eclectic elements. After the end of the war and the withdrawal of the Russian army, the building became the property of the Greek state and was used for various purposes, such as a hospital and refugee accommodation.
